What This Actually Does
Preferred sources is a setting inside Google Search, not something Trill News controls. When you mark a site as preferred, Google shows more of that site's stories in Top Stories when it has relevant coverage, and gives it more prominence in AI results. It does not remove anything else from your results, and it does not turn Search into a feed of only the sites you picked.
It Is Your Setting, Not Ours
The choice lives in your Google account and you can change it whenever you like. You can pick as many sources as you want, and adding one does not remove another. Trill News is not told who has selected us, and we receive no data about you from this. Turning it off later takes the same ten seconds as turning it on.
How To Do It
Use the button above, which opens the Google settings page for this site, then confirm. You can also do it from Search itself: run a search that shows a Top Stories section, look for the preferred sources icon beside it, and add Trill News from the panel that opens. Either route ends up in the same place.
Why We Are Asking
Search sends less traffic to small publishers than it used to, and readers who deliberately choose a source are the most reliable way for an independent site to stay visible.
